Hong Kong 1997 Competition

To commemorate the hand over of Hong Kong by the British to the Chinese government in 1997, an international competition was held to design a monument to symbolize unification under the "one country, two systems" slogan.

My design was to convey the notion of "mending the land". A set of interlocking bridges breaking through the boundary walls and crisscrossing between the Shenzhen River symbolizes unification and mending of a historical scar. This entry made it to the final round of 20.
