Suquamish House of Awakened Culture (with Mithun)

The House of Awakened Culture is located along the waterfront of Suquamish and is the cultural, spiritual and communal center of the tribe. Along with the Suquamish Museum up the road, this building was designed in respect of the heritage of the "Old Man House" which was destroyed in 1870. Both buildings are modern adaptation of the traditional Longhouse with strong intentions to harmonize with the site and the surrounding environment.

While working with Mithun as a Senior Project Designer, I was responsible for the overall architectural and structural concept and most of the architectural detailing.
